Lockdown restrictions have been tightened in the Chinese city of Xi'an.
Chinese people's rice bowl must be firmly held in their hands at all times, and rice contained in the bowl must be mainly China-grown, President Xi Jinping said during a key rural work meeting over the weekend.
Xi renewed an emphasis on food security during a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee on issues related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers.
Ensuring the supply of primary goods is a major strategic issue, Xi noted, calling for efforts to safeguard grain security and protect farmland, make down-to-earth structural adjustments, expand the planting of soybean and oil crops, as well as ensure the supplies of pork, vegetables and other agricultural and sideline products.
Experts pointed out that with the country’s continuous efforts to expand the production capacity of soybeans and oilseeds, China’s reliance on imports will go down, while demand and supply for soybeans have both gradually stablized.
The central rural work conference held afterwards, which usually sets rural and agricultural policy priorities for the coming year, vowed that the country will maintain a stable grain output exceeding 650 billion kilograms next year, a level China has maintained for six years.

习近平强调，保障好初级产品供给是一个重大战略性问题，中国人的饭碗任何时候都要牢牢端在自己手中，饭碗主要装中国粮。保证粮食安全，大家都有责任，党政同责要真正见效。要有合理布局，主产区、主销区、产销平衡区都要保面积、保产量。耕地保护要求要非常明确，18亿亩耕地必须实至名归，农田就是农田，而且必须是良田。要实打实地调整结构，扩种大豆和油料，见到可考核的成效。要真正落实“菜篮子”市长负责制，确保猪肉、蔬菜等农副产品供给安全。
分析指出，近年来，我国口粮供给充足，然而大豆和食用油进口规模较大、对外依存度较高。今后要切实端牢饭碗，必须提前谋划，既要有硬举措，更要抓实效，多措并举抓好关键品种。
中央农村工作会议强调，要全力抓好粮食生产和重要农产品供给，稳定粮食面积，大力扩大大豆和油料生产，确保2022年粮食产量稳定在1.3万亿斤以上。
Lockdown restrictions have been tightened in the Chinese city of Xi'an, as authorities reported 150 new local cases for Sunday, a slight decrease from the previous day.
On Monday, Xi'an authorities urged residents to stay home except for having their sample collected in a new round of citywide testing. Xi'an has also launched a city-wide disinfection campaign.
The Chinese mainland reported 162 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases yesterday, including 152 in Shannxi province and 7 in Guangxi province.
12月26日0—24时，陕西省报告新增确诊病例152例，西安市150例。12月27日 12时，西安将进行新一轮全员核酸检测。目前，该市已暂停2天1人外出采购政策，要求所有居民待核酸结果阴性后，才能出门。
此外，为进一步做好疫情防控工作，切实保障人民群众身体健康和生命安全，西安市疫情防控指挥部决定，自2021年12月26日18时开始，在西安全市范围内开展全面消杀。
全国昨日新增本土病例162例（陕西152例，其中西安市150例、咸阳市1例、渭南市1例；广西7例，均在防城港市；浙江1例，在绍兴市；广东1例，在东莞市；四川1例，在成都市）。
Profits of China's major industrial firms continued rapid growth in the first 11 months of the year, official data showed Monday. Industrial firms with annual business revenues of at least 20 million yuan saw their combined profits up 38 percent year on year in the January-November period to 7.98 trillion yuan, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said in a statement.
规模以上工业企业利润增长：国家统计局今日公布数据显示， 1—11月份，全国规模以上工业企业实现利润总额79750.1亿元，同比增长38.0%。
China on Monday unveiled two shortened negative lists for foreign investment, as part of efforts to further open up the economy and promote high-quality economic development. The number of items that are off-limits for foreign investors will be cut to 31 from 33 in the 2020 version, and the negative list in pilot free trade zones was shortened to 27 from 30, according to the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce.
外资准入负面清单发布：12月27日，国家发展改革委、商务部发布2021年版外资准入负面清单。2021年版全国和自贸试验区外资准入负面清单进一步缩减至31条、27条，压减比例分别为6.1%、10%。
Chinese tech giant Baidu has opened internal testing of the country's first metaverse-related app called Xirang for a group of users, as the company looks to leverage its artificial intelligence capabilities in the fast-growing metaverse field. Xirang was opened to all users today when Baidu’s annual developers' conference was held via its metaverse platform.
百度发布元宇宙产品“希壤”：2021百度Create大会（AI开发者大会）主论坛今日正式开启，这是国内首次在元宇宙中举办大型科技峰会。百度在元宇宙平台举办该会议，并发布元宇宙产品“希壤”。

Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday with MetaVerse and NET concept stock s losing their momentum. The Shanghai Composite lost 0.06 percent, and the Shenzhen Component gained 0.04 percent. Trading in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange is closed today due to Christmas holiday.
周一A股收盘涨跌不一，元宇宙、NET概念明显退潮。沪指收跌0.06%，深成指涨0.04%。受圣诞节假期影响，港股今日全天休市。
