Editor’s Note: Since the reform and opening-up, China has undergone profound transformations, with foreign multinational companies playing a key role. As important participants, they have provided indispensable momentum for China’s journey toward high-quality development. Meanwhile, the global expansion of Chinese multinational enterprises has brought new energy to the nation’s growth. As celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, we are launching the special coverage "Multinationals on China" to review the course of China’s high-level opening-up.

In an interview with SFC, Sam Lai, Southern China General Manager of Sun Hung Kai Properties, shared his insights on Guangzhou's development within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He emphasized the strategic significance of Guangzhou's location, stating, "Guangzhou, as the central hub of the '9+2' city cluster, plays a vital role in the region's development."

He highlighted the city's remarkable infrastructure growth, with Guangzhou South Railway Station serving as a key transportation hub, enhancing regional connectivity. Lai expressed strong confidence in Guangzhou's future, noting the city's emergence as an international consumption hub, supported by strategic commercial projects like ParcCentral and IGC in Tianhe District.
