The Shanghai Pudong New Area, characterized by openness, innovation, and sustainable development, is emerging as a vibrant example of a modern city.
In an interview with SFC reporter, Kelvin Li, Managing Director of East China for Cushman & Wakefield, emphasized that we can clearly see Pudong New Area’s remarkable achievements in modernization from four key dimensions: cultural development, public services, ecological environment, and economic growth. These achievements not only lay a solid foundation for creating international communities but also provide expansive prospects for foreign enterprises.
As a pioneering window for the country’s high-level opening up, Pudong has attracted numerous foreign investment firms, leveraging its unique advantages and high-quality business environment. Currently, it is home to 42 international economic organizations, 346 Fortune 500 companies, and 468 regional headquarters of multinational corporations, all benefiting from China's development.
Li noted that many multinational companies are choosing to establish their China headquarters in Pudong because of its unique advantages in attracting foreign investment. He stated that Pudong has broken through many policies that are difficult for other regions to implement, providing excellent development conditions for businesses.
Looking ahead, Li believes that as top-tier enterprises continue to settle in Pudong, a virtuous cycle of policy innovation and market development will persist, alongside a continuous leadership in ecological construction. These factors will further enhance Pudong’s appeal to global top enterprises.
