The 2024 Understanding China International Conference is held in Guangzhou. While attending the conference, Zhang Jianping, deputy director of the Academic Committee of Chinese Academy of international Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Commerce,  said that China's approach to modernization is completely different from the path previously taken by Western countries. But now, in the 21st century, China is entering a new era of development, striving to achieve modernization for a vast population of 1.4 billion people, which is unprecedented in history. "What's more, the modernization we pursue is driven by innovation and guided by the principle of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature," Zhang said.
