DeepSeek recently released version 3.1, featuring three key highlights: a hybrid inference architecture, improved thinking efficiency, and stronger agent capabilities.

Bernardo Mariano Junior, Assistant Secretary-General and Chief Information Technology Officer of the United Nations, said that he has been using DeepSeek since its release. As UN CITO, he has tried a range of LLM tools, including ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and DeepSeek.

“I would say DeepSeek is much cheaper, but still powerful. So I think it's revolutionized how large language models are conceived in terms of their computing power,” he added. “I think that's a great evolution and a great benefit for everyone. To have a large language model, you don't need the highest processing capacity. ”

Bernardo Mariano Junior said China not only leads in AI technology and application, but also makes sure that it's open-sourced. He noted that China is willing to share its achievements, so that they benefit not only China but the world.
