Huaqiangbei has grown into one of the world’s largest electronics markets. Once known primarily as an “electronics paradise” for Chinese shoppers, it now attracts customers from across the globe.

According to the latest data, in the first half of 2025, Huaqiangbei saw an average daily foot traffic of 750,000—a 50% increase year-on-year—with over 7,000 international visitors, double that of the previous year.

A buyer from Chile told SFC journalists that Huaqiangbei offers a wide range of new products unavailable in her home country. “Many of the items are truly spectacular.” she said.

Wang Chengzhu, a Huaqiangbei staff member, explained that the market is transforming into a borderless international hub, with increasingly globalized services and a welcoming environment for overseas customers.
